The 17th annual meeting of Lithuanian Pain Society
has been held in resort town Druskininkai on 3rd-4th of June 2022. Sixty two participants including pain physicians and doctors of various specialties, nurses, physiotherapists, and psychologists have participated in the meeting. Prof. Brona Fullen, the President of European Pain Federation, has announced the virtual welcome speech at the opening ceremony. The scientific program has included three plenary sessions, one physical activity session, and one special session has been devoted to 20th year anniversary of “Skausmo medicina”, the official journal of Lithuanian Pain Society. Among invited speakers there was educational staff from Lithuanian University of Health Sciences, from Vilnius University, and from Karolinska Institute Stockholm, Sweden. Family physician as the practical doctors have presented clinical cases at one of the plenary sessions, as well. The edition of “Pain diagnostics and treatment guidelines for family physicians” was like a gift of Lithuanian Pain Society specially issued for 17the Annual meeting. The participants were also provided with the last issue of “Skausmo medicina” N.2(49), 2022.
Forty five members of Lithuanian Pain Society have participated in the business meeting. Assoc. prof. Arunas Sciupokas has been re-elected for the new term of Presidency. Assoc.prof. Indre Bileviciute-Ljungar was approved as the Vice-president, dr. Greta Velickaite – as the Treasurer, and Danute Buteniene – as the Honorary secretary. The Council of 20 members was approved at the meeting, too. The venue of the 18th Annual meeting also was announced: Klaipeda, May 2023.
